GIFTED in association with Chordblossom presents shoegaze trailblazers Virgins, headlining the Belfast Empire on Thursday 10th April 2025. This will be their biggest headline show to date after a series of sell out shows across the city following the release of their debut album.
Support on the night will come from Moon Landing and GUSH; two artists who have gained a lot of plaudits over the last 12 months.
Tickets are on sale now and are priced at £10.
VIRGINS
Virgins are one of the most exciting bands to come out of Ireland in recent times. Built on a foundation of euphoric shimmering guitar leads, walls of gargantuan fuzz and ethereal vocals, the band pull no punches.
The Belfast based shoegaze band quickly established themselves as a live force with sold out performances across Ireland & the UK as well as appearances at Other Voices & Stendhal Festival.
After a promising EP and series of singles, the release of debut full length record, ‘nothing hurt and everything was beautiful’, is their crowning achievement to date. Released via Blowtorch Records, the album was met with significant critical acclaim across the board. This was capped off by its nomination for Album of the Year at the NI Music Prize.
Moon Landing
Moon Landing is an alternative music project fronted by multi-instrumentalist Jake McCrea. The band came to the fore as part of Chordblossom’s Kickstart programme as well as the Oh Yeah’s Scratch My Progress scheme.
Experimenting with soundscapes and musical textures, Moon Landing creates an immersive and emotional experience through each song, walking the line between vulnerability and powerful raw energy.
GUSH
Sonically, GUSH don’t like to be pinned down. However if pushed they point to their sound being a fusion of alternative rock, grunge, punk rock, hard rock, indie rock, shoegaze, a pinch of pop and a hell of a lot of noise.
The band’s debut EP ‘Exposure Therapy’ saw them confronting fears, anxieties and mining the darkest recesses of their psyches as they use their instruments as tools to exorcise their considerable demons.
